Hunger Action Month

September is “Hunger Action Month” and the goal is to raise awareness and get people to take action against hunger.

According to Feeding America, 1 in 7 Americans struggle with hunger and in Middlesex County 79,140 people are food insecure. Currently, the supply of nonperishable foods and necessities at MCFOODS (the Middlesex County Food Bank) is dangerously low. Let’s work together and do our part to help those in need. We have prepared a calendar of “30 Ways in 30 Days” that lists activities you can take part in to raise awareness, volunteer or donate to help fight food insecurity in Middlesex County. These tips and ideas can be used at any time – not just during the month of September.

Take Action Against Hunger

MCFOODS encourages individuals and organizations to take action by hosting a food drive or making a personal food donation to help restock our shelves. Monetary donations are also accepted in the form of a check payable to Feeding Middlesex County that can be mailed to PO Box 781, Edison, NJ 08818 or online via their website www.feedingmiddlesexcounty.org.
