WEATHER EMERGENCIES AND CURBSIDE COLLECTION HOLIDAYS
Changes in curbside collection schedules due to weather emergencies will be announced on the homepage of the MCIA’s website.
The MCIA’s Recycling Division staff members, who can be reached at 1-800-488-MCIA (6242), will also have information regarding collection cancellations.
Furthermore, schedule changes may be broadcast on your municipality’s cable television channel.
The only holidays observed for recycling collections are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas (except when those holidays fall on Saturdays or Sundays.)
If your regular collection day falls on any of these holidays, collection will be rescheduled for the following Saturday. See your municipal collection schedule for specific changes.
Municipal Public Works Department holidays do NOT affect the recycling collection schedule.
